If you do decide to stay at Inverurie the nearby Broomend of Crichie , as well as being the site of a henge also boasts the remains of a stone circle (there were two ) an avenue and a recently discovered timber circle . Often overlooked it was obviously a major landscape .

Overlooked & horribly neglected.

Worth a visit though, I could cry when I think about what stood a couple of centuries ago. Two circles, an avenue leading to the river, and I'm sure it's linked to nearby sites as well. Would have been one of the most impressive sites in Britain.

Ah well, still worth a look, to see and to dream......
