Now what about reviving the bow-shot?
I reckon Rich and Mr Wolf are busy re-writing their letters to santa to include a longbow and a quiver of arrows to add to their ever growing field kits. Of course Rich's bow will come with an unfeasbly large carrying case.

It would depend on the place being measured, and the type of arrowhead used.

I personally would have no truck with a neolithic site being measured by the distance an iron tipped arrow could travel.
