Hi Fitz , they are kept in a well protected "cage" in Killin , river worn pebbles but hand sized as you would rub them over the affected areas .It's a long time rime since I saw them in flesh so can't comment on markings but hae meh doots .
On a second looking, I guess the straw gives scale so they are quite small.
