Can anyone direct me to any information on the iron age fort in the grounds of the Cultoquhey House Hotel, Gilmerton, Perthshire?I have a friend that's moved into a house overlooking it, and thought a book or paper about it might be nice house warmer.

Also, is this the stone on the left hand side as you head back towards Crieff?

It seems to be on the right as you drive north into Crief

This link may be some use, doesnt look like there's a lot of literature on it though. Don't forget the Clyde Cairn nearby ,if you can find in the vegetation .http://www.rcahms.gov.uk/pls/portal/newcanmore.details_gis?inumlink=25441

Henshall has two pages of text and illustrations on Cultoquhey cairn in her "Chambered Tombs of Scotland". It's probably the nearest you'll get to a "paper" on anything at Cultoquhey.

If that was the sort of thing you wanted, I could email you a Word scan to mess about with. It's not a great cairn, though.

A potentially more interesting site nearby, ie here

Hi Anthony,

no that stone is Dargill, it's on your left as you drive south from Crieff towards Muthill (and the A9) just after the Stuart Crystal visitor centre.

there aren't any stones on your left between Gilmerton and Crieff, however there is a stone circle on the golf course in on the right http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3270

if you want any more info on the area, just shout. my grandma lives in Muthill so I know the area well

Cheers
