Walton Basin

I know a little about the Walton Basin, mainly because I have a copy of The Walton Basin Project: Excavation and Survey in a Prehistoric Landscape 1993-7 by Alex Gibson.

It does state that the Hindwell pallisaded enclosure is *by far* the largest Neolithic enclosure in Britain, however, there`s an even larger one at Urmitz in Germany.

Thanks Baza. Methinks nowhere near enough eploration/research has been done. Does that book (can't afford the 21 quid) throw up any clues about dates of usage of Hindwell enclosure? I'd also particularly like to know what the 'Tumulus' is on top of Whimble Hill?

Gah, 5000 miles and I gotta walk! Maybe whilst sorting the visa out I can revisit Walton Basin in October for a few weeks. I stored a mountain bike there for such events :-)
