also great urswick fort and longbarrow - not far from druid's circle at ulverston.

i havnt been right over to the west coast for ages - seem to remember muddy beaches with roaming cows. i would stay in ulverston instead.

I'm thinking the same thing! There's nowt for anywhere on that coast in my Good Pub Guide, and the 'net's throwing up very little too.
Ulverston it is I think. At least there'll be a bit of life there.

Yea, that's a must do! It's in the TMA book too. One of those Mutha' Earth hills I'm not convinced about but love to visit.

Plans are shaping up nicely. . now I just need a pub with B&B, real ale, ('Dark Island' or 'Circlemaster' will do). Late bar, a selection of cobs, live music (not 'Mustang Sally', just a bit of Folk'd be nice).
And a Sandie Shaw look-alike for the barmaid. Who thinks I'm mysterious and curly and arty (I don't tell her I'm a gas fitter from Wolverhampton!).
