Aside from Castlerigg, I would have to say Mayburgh Henge, which was quite unexpected. I didn't realise from look at pictures just how HUGE it is! And it is a lovely space. I wonder if I can manage another visit next week when I go to the other sites...!

ah, I LOVE Mayburgh and usually try to get up there at least 4 times a year. It looks fantastic on a crisp winter's morn.....and, I have NEVER seen anyone else there. When you realise where it is, you can actually see the tree-lined henge from the M6 and every time I drive past, it feels like my own, personal secret!
