Curiouser and curiouser. Yes, she’s a part time lecturer there under him. I see she’s a BA, and wonder if she’s doing a PhD?
I also see she’s on the World Heritage Site Steering Group and presumably committed to their stated aim that
“All research should be carried out with due regard to the principles of sustainability”
...and their hope for a “willingness of owners and farmers to support the Plan”
...and knows quite well that her farm is well inside the WHS GIS area.
She’d certainly know in her other capacities...
“co-chair of the Archaeological and Historical Group for Avebury, member of Wessex Archaeology, and a Trustee of the Prehistoric Society”
... and she’s bound to have discussed the whole effing circus with all of those bodies, it just wouldn't be natural not to.
The more I look the more I feel all is well, as I’ve found these two quotes:
“The management of the WHS is a conservation exercise and although it is necessary to understand the archaeology in order to manage it, the main objective must be to achieve this with minimum destruction of the resource.”
- Gill Swanton
“The deployment of remote sensing techniques as the main investigative approach in all cases, giving nonscheduled sites the same status as scheduled monuments, should be a priority.”
- Gill Swanton

Or, on the other hand, she’s a cheap hypocrite. So sue me.
