Just spoke to someone named Alan Francis in the WCC Rights of Way Dept - he identified the path as All Cannings 36 (bridleway) and as soon as the landowner is known, they will be asked to reinstate the path.

Feels like a result but I told him to expect lots more communications.

That sounds like a significant step forward - great stuff. Well done for confronting WCC directly about it. Let's see what happens. Once this path is back in its rightful place, I promise to raise a pint of best to you all in the Red Lion!

By the way, I was really happy to see that the Number 49 continued to run on Sundays - whatever their plans. Let's hope our emails have dissuaded them from cutting it in the future. (Although a return from Swindon has increased to four pounds!)
