A great little town if you want to buy a saddle, Barbour jacket, or a shot gun!
Both Nick Drake and Chris DeBurgh went to school at Marlborough - a real case of "sublime to ridiculous".

I lived in Marlborough for 4 years until relatively recently. I can only confirm that its well weird! Nice and close to Avebury though. Thats why i moved there!
