Question mark!

A. Since when it was first started.

Lammas is almost certain to be another day other than the first of August. Like the Chinese New Year celebrations in Newcastle's Chinatown are a week, sometimes ten days, after the actual new year starts. Only the pagans will be celebrating early.

Lammas will be on Friday the seventh, by my rough calculation. It *was* on August the first, centuries ago, until five days were added, to compensate for the accumulated errors of no leap years - was that in the seventeen hundreds?
