I can heartily recommend the polisher stone. It sounds like you've been to lots of the local sites already. You could always be our intrepid reporter and check out what the church with its sarsen stones (and nearby spring) is like at Alton Prior? I don't know if anyone else has been there..?

I'm not really from round here, I come from London don't you know ;)

I love the Avebury area, it is to me archetypal countryside and something I get the greatest pleasure just walking through. Alton Priors sounds like a plan, I can visit Knap Hill / Adam's Grave again while I'm over that way..

Anyone know how likely I am to get shot if I try and reach East Kennet LB? :)
