Obelisks aren't that shape (they terminate in a pyramid). A modern erection would have a level top, perhaps ? Where, in the valleys below, is this stone intended to be viewed from ?

you can't actually see it from the valley floor as far as I can see, but when standing up here you can see towards <a href="http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3790">Clach na Tiompan</a> chambered cairn, <a href="http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3791">Clach na Tiompan</a> stone circle and <a href="http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/3792">River Almond</a> stone circle

if you look at the Streetmap, this "obelisk" is one the rocky crags above Conichan farm, to the east of the above mentioned sites
