thats what you get for typing things in without looking...

See, I don't often look at sites outside Cornwall...we don't have many caves...only dodgy smugglers ones.

Thinking about it...

Perhaps you learned ones can help?

Whilst reading through old newspapers, I have come across a piece about a diving expedition to Looe Island (south east Cornwall)in 1901. They claim to have found about 18ft below water the remains of scores of "caves" made from local bricks.
They claim they are built in the same style as Etruscan caves in central Italy and may date from the pre maesoplegic period.
Now, I have my doubts...I am not an expert as you all know but...I have never heard of "pre maesoplegic period" is it made up?

I have asked the local divers and they have not come across anything but will keep an eye out.

Is this I wonder a sort of Piltdown Man hoax? or is it worth putting it in as a site?

Back to me hole then....

Mr H

...And fogous. Or is that the same thing????
