Before I answer the Cornish question...

Was up on Dartmoor yesterday...should have had a coach load of Americans but the captain refused to bring the ship in...Anyway i thought I would do the walk I had planned to take them on regardless.

Followed the old railway from Princetown to Foggintor then onwards to Yellowmeade Fm. Apart from a couple of hut circles south of the track I didn't spot anything prehistoric...should I have done?

I walked back to Princetown from Yellowmeade using the Tavistock/Ashburton marker stones to guide me over the flank of Hessary Tor. I know these are not prehistoric but it was great to think I was following a route set up around 400 years ago in much the same way that our Bronze Age cousins would have followed routes.

By the way...the Dartmoor Centre at Princetown has got copies of Jeremy Butlers Vol 5 Dartmoor Atlas for sale at £4.99...I think I might be making a few more journeys over the border this winter..if it ever dries out.
