Just to hijack this thread - sorry JanenMoth - I was also thinking of Cornwall BUT can it be done by train/coach and can you get around by bus when you get there?
environMENTALly freindly non-driving person, me :)

Yep!!!

I've done it!! Caught the train to Exeter, then to plymouth and then bussed it about all over the place!! Was a few years ago mind, but can't see why not!!

Hi Joanna,

Mom-in-Law Morfe is very environmentally aware and goes everywhere in Cornwall by bus and train, even travels from Lizard Peninsula to London and back regularly and never uses a car. It can be done. I used to hitch and walk all round the place, and then bicycle once there. One tip, leave plenty of time to complete journeys once in Cornwall, it's not easy if you want to get to anywhere other than towns, even then the bus services are 'rural' and infrequent. I think the coach trip to London is something like 7 hrs, you do also get to see Devon and Somerset in thee bargain if you go by train/bus :-)
