MP for the Wrekin area, Peter Bradley, thinks the Wrekin (a big lone hill sticking out of Shropshire) is 'untidy'. His comments have started a public debate which has thrown up the marvellous (although probably unlikely) idea of having a cable car up the side (it's not that bloody high). Now the National Trust say 'they're willing to help with advice'. Yeah right, the NT are now known for their sensitive approach to landmarks.
Just thought I'd mention it. The Wrekin has an iron age fort on top (dunno about anything earlier) and includes the 'eye of the needle' which you must squeeze through. Picture at
