The Thornborough Henges

Setting

The problem is that you get Callanish and Brodgar tagged as The "Stonehenge of the North" also..Pretty insulting 'cos they are both far superior to that "Stonehenge of the South" in the layby of the A303

I'd go for "Thornborough Prehistoric Landscape" Trouble with all the viewshed aspirations is that the damage has been done to so much of the landscape so close to the henges and all you can hope for now is no more and restoration of what has already been ripped out.

"and restoration of what has already been ripped out"

If you Google Quarry and Nature Reserve you get loads of hits. Filling big holes with water is the cheapest solution and gets lots of local support. The existing lakes at Thornboro are bigged up as attracting migratory geese. We'll have to see if the first bird flu in Britain is down to Tarmac.... ;)
