Isn't "Noster" Latin for "our", hence "pater noster" = "our father", so maybe Nosterfield is just "our field". On the other hand maybe it's related to "north" or "northern" as in "northerfield".

There is an outside chance of tracking down the Roman name for Well at some stage, if they ever knock down the house that is ontop of the villa so it can be looked at.

Old-maps might have some interesting field names.
