I can feel a ranting letter of my own coming on.
Where and to whom at the council should these letters be sent?

I suggest you write two letters.

One would be the rant and the other should be the objection, which should be well reasoned and clear.

There is nothing to stop an individual from objecting more than once.

Be prepared for Tarmac to change the application so that we have to do this all over again.

A couple of reasons to object:

The proposed site is within 10m of "the largest collection of Neolithic remains so far found in the north of England." These remains continue into the application area and must be protected from further destruction.

The application will destroy important archaeology linked with the henges and will record it in a second rate manner. This archaeology is of national importance and therefore the council's policy of not allowing quarrying in such areas should apply.

The application is by Tarmac Northern Ltd and it is for Ladybridge Farm.
