Try and get hold of a copy of Aubrey Burl's 'From Carnac To Callanish' - it's a masterwork.
But in there he has distribution maps for the different kinds of rows. Cumbria is a cluster place for these monuments.
It's the same everywhere. People just visit the actual single sites rather than experience them as a 'network'. They all used connect - at least visually. There's a heck of a lot of monuments waiting to be found. There's not many persons looking for them though...
