Yus, absolutely loved it, as well as solstice sunrise at the Stones of Stenness all on our own! I've tried to upload Mrs Wild Wooder's digi photos, but they're too big. We stayed at the Standing Stones Hotel. New people, very charming and hard working. Bar meals were fine and the trouble is the previous owner was also the chief chef, so the restaurant didn't open often in the evening. All set to change though and at breakfast on the right table you can look across to the Ring of Brodgar!

But the Orkneys are a wonderful place and we only scratched the surface in a week. Skara Brae, Broch of Gurness but no time for the Dwarfie Stane. Saw a wonderful bungalow for sale on the shore of a peaceful loch. Trout and no licence needed...I could even take up fishing if we bought the bungalow but a bloody long commute to the City of London. Ah well...dream on!
