"Locals"

close

Hi Scotty,

Seem to recall that the 'locals' you mention got taken to court a year or two back for trying to block access to this one. They're only 'local' if by 'local' you mean from around 250 miles south of Fife. They lost, and the right of way was re-established in court. There's a bit of a story attached to this stone, but I'm blowed if I can recall it off the top of my head. I'll dig around and post it if I can find the reference! Nice one anyway, the MacDuffs were Thains of Fife (one of the 7 Thains) and held the right to crown the Ard Righ. Believe it was one of their wives did the business for the Bruce as her husband was otherwise engaged in a cell somewhere south of Fife at the time.

ScootY,

Finally found the references to this and posted them under 'Miscellaneous'. Two newspaper articles about the argument over the path's right of way status. Established as a right of way so access is assured!

Nick mate,
can you drop us a line to [email protected]
It's work related so I don't wanna bore the forum
cheers
Fitz

Um, sorry, do you mind if I butt in to ask where you're on about? I've looked around to see if I could work it out, but can't find any clues.
