For me, Wychbury always had a bit of an atmosphere I can't explain. You could argue that this is just imagination, but a number of people young and old have said this in general conversation with me without prompt. The yews are impressive and have been dated to a great age (based on what evidence there is at hand)

Enjoy the landscape around there folks, I think it hold special meanings for our ancestors that have since been lost. It would be nice to meet local folk there some time

Re. the atmosphere around Wychbury, I personally liken it to the type of feelings frequently experienced in heavily forested areas..... not the 'panic' or unnerved feeling that you sometimes get at such places, but there is certainly a discernible 'hum' (non-olfactory!! Laugh!!) to the place..... Hard to put into words without sounding 'New Agey' (which I'm not at all!! Laugh!!) It is an exceptionally peaceful region indeed..... a lovely place for a bracing walk in any weather.
