Given that the Dorset Cursus is the most awe inspiring earthwork i.e. longest and function completely unknown of the Neolithic period. It is estimated that it took half a million man hours to construct. Why is it not given more importance as part of our English heritance? At the very least English Heritage could put Public information Panels at either end as they have done at Maiden Castle etc.

Another comment I would like to make is that it is a disgrace that the farmers have been allowed to destroy such an important monument. This is modern vandalism on a grand scale. Does anyone else agree or disagree?

I agree, although I have no first-hand experience of it. I'll take your word for for it PS.

I couldn't agree more.

It is one of my goals, you may not be surprised to hear, to walk the entire length of the Dorset Cursus, despite there being no path long its internal length.

One day I'll get around to researching this.
