Did you get any photos of the stones at the stable? How can you be sure they're the real thing?

Don't mean to sound sceptical. I'm just trying to curb my excitement.

I got a few snaps but they are all in a heap with nettles growing through them.
They are about the right size for the ones that stukeley drew.
The fact that they didn't find any sockets indicates that Stukeley saw them lying in the field as either natural drift stones or they were in the process of being dragged towards Beckhampton for use in buildings.
Personaly I think the avenue terminated at the Cove.
