Anyone else notice this, posted by maesi? (Thanks maesi!)

"I visited this site on 13th November, 2008. Due to vandalism inside the chamber the key is no longer available.

"Internal viewing is between 1200 and 1600 hours on bank holidays and weekends from 1st April to 30th September

"A viewing can be aranged by contacting the Wayside Stores on 01407 810153."

For those who missed it, here's a report on the 24hr museum:

"29.04.2008 - Top Welsh Megalithic monument open again for visitors

A top Anglesey destination for megalith fans is open again to visitors.

The Neolithic burial chamber Barclodiad y Gawres in Anglesey has been closed for a number of months to remove graffiti, but the outstanding monument which overlooks the Irish Sea can now be visited again by appointment every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday between 12 and 4pm until 30 September.

As the chamber is reached through a locked gate, visitors wishing to see the monument should call into the nearby Wayside Stores in Llanfaelog, one mile north of the chamber, where they will then be accompanied to the chamber by a member of staff. Wayside Stores are contracted by Cadw to manage the chamber. "

Yeah, it IS a shame... But it's good that it's looked after by people who care so much about it.

We went there in June (from Monday to Friday - dammit!) and only found out when we got to the Wayside Stores that we wouldn't be able to get access... Gutted! Still - you can get right up to the gated entrance and look in - it looks great! Must get back there over a weekend sometime...
