I think you're onto something though. Don't some people think the pictish symbols relate to nearby sites, like little diagrams of them?

Fountain ?? .Sorry Branwen it must be somebody else .
Considering some of the the obvious grammar that is apparent in the Pictish stones it's about time we made some inroads into their "meaning" .
I am aware of one theory that suggests that topography may be a component , I don't buy it myself but it's not as whacky as some , but it's not in print .
