It seems that the 'damage' is under investigation, one of the henges has disappeared? due to tree planting and re-seeding, it will be a great pity as Priddy Henges are unique..

Archeologists are assessing damage to a 4,000-year-old prehistoric site on the Mendip Hills.

English Heritage experts have been investigating claims that one of the four Priddy Circles, which are Scheduled Ancient Monuments, has been obliterated.

May have missed it but there still seems to be no comment from English Heritage. If, as Megalithic writes, there was a problem at Priddy as far back as 2008, and EH didn’t act on it, they should now be held responsible on both accounts.

Care to comment English Heritage?

I was there just last November and all seemed to be as it should.
But then they bulldozed it flat?

An aerial photo of the recent bulldozing of the southern Priddy Circle can be seen here.

Perhaps not as much destruction as I had first thought, but nevertheless, something totally unacceptable

If I am not mistaken the farm and houses were up for sale several months ago. It is likely that a new owner has decided to do something with the land. I know it was for sale as my wife and I dreamed of buying it al and setting up a retreat there.
