Just heard there's a talk on at the Town Hall in Carlisle this Thursday evening at 7pm by the great Stan the Man - subject Rock art In Cumbria

Costs 75p including coffee! I'm there!

Yes, he likes you ... You could try Stan with a printout of this picture - http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/20179 - the place it came from had a Carlisle postcode. (Withdraw if there's any sign of steam). Tullie House has some excellent paintings, loads of Roman stuff, but the stones, I fear, will be mainly in the basement.
