I like to think it was one guy who happened to be a bit obsessed ;-)

More likely to be some sort of tribe.
But they are similar to all sorts of others eg yorkshire, scotland.... so this guy travelled around a lot... in *my* head!

Is it possible that these rocks were like prehistoric coffee tables, and the cavemen hadn't yet invented coasters, and their hot drinks had slowly worn these "cup" maks into the stone over the years? Makes you think, dunnit? Eh? ;o)
