Hello K,

Nice to know someone's keeping up with all these posts - 100 every 24 hours??!!!!!

Coate circle isn't much to look at especially compared with what else is nearby - no tea lights here! but there's enough here to get a feel for its overall size. Pete G suggested there was also a stone in the farm yard but we didn't look there.

Now's a good time to visit. The grass is kept low by the lack of sun and the presence of a couple of horses in the field. The construction of the new Great Western Hospital visible behind the trees in the photos has detracted from the atmos. a bit. It was all fields round here when I was a lad. However, saying that, this is still a relatively quiet spot on a quiet country lane.

Rgds,

I'll have to make the effort to go and visit next time we're in the area. Our little visit to Avebury before New Year made us think about possibly spending a long weekend there and abouts, some time this year. Maybe that'll be my opportunity to see Coate Stone Circle.

Are there any plans for MA people to get together this year? I'm not sure whether it's been done before, but I thought I'd ask. Avebury is an obvious venue.
