Neil Young mentioned how his mum would have a couple in the freezer for the winter. It was in the chat of a live show - I think - and he just calls them 'geese'. I dislike them and have watched them invade and displace the native geese and swans. They're almost everywhere there is open fresh water. Sometimes they hybridise with the Mute Swan producing a horrible splotchy bird. In Leazes Park, Newcastle, there were half a dozen under a light at seven this morning, in the dark.
