Something WILL be lost if car travellers can't see the stones but apart from that the main "fuss" is about the destruction that would be created at the approaches to a "short" tunnel.

Personally I wouldn't be upset, I just think the timing is probably connected with the push at Stonehenge and it probably won't happen.(I'm also not sure if it's possible or likely they would ban most traffic while leaving it open for 2.5 million blue badge holders. That didn't happen at the A344, disabled people were banned too, so why would it be different at Avebury?)
