Some of fachtna's observations and background information for readers of the book, The Story of Silbury Hill, can now be found here.

His explanation of the opening of the Atkinson/BBC door is illuminating and goes some way towards explaining why there is a difference in the existing video footage (one video shows spoil pouring from the interior of the door while the other video does not).
