Sorry, but I don't know who posted this quote.....

"Of the many purposes of Silbury, I believe it was also incorporated to be part of a "line of sight", message relay network, from the Southern/Western coasts of the UK towards the London area, as was done on the Great Wall of China, to alert central authorities of any invasions."

....but so far as we know, when Silbury was built there were no "central authorities" in the modern sense, no organised "invasions" (lots of cross Channel trade) and the site of London was a few small hills and islands beside a wide and boggy river.
Jim.

From an observer, 3000 miles away, it seems that 95% of Silbury is still only guessed at.

In fact, the surrounding countryside contains how many distinctly individual cultures, Pre-Roman? Druid? Celtic? Greek? Egyptian?

What attracted me to the satellite images of this area, in the first place, is the relatively undisturbed saturation of artistic images in the area, all overlapping each other.

What I am finding most amazing is the intriguing thought process, "We don't know all there is to know, not by a long shot, but we believe your new idea is unfounded"

Is this thread ready to be locked, for lack of new disagreements?

I am willing to lock it up, with a big fat zero on my side, for my own tourist theory, not at all well received. I say future researchers will see what I see.
