knew we should have come ... still, we were at the Other End of the Ridgeway, and a Gibbonnette has requested to do the whole Ridgeway walk, without being prompted ... has anyone here done it? 100 miles, isn't it?

How about sending some emails?
If the hole is not fixed properly by this time next year then locals want to fix it themselves.
