you're right of course - and a good person to only accentuate the positive

but I had a strong romantic connection with silbury once i think and so find it difficult to resist reading about it. but all this talk of it's innards and chalk and stuff is so f***ing dull and the demonisation of english heritage and anyone to do with the establishment is so, er, sixth form somehow no?

but I thought you might be interested as this the biggest Silbury dig ever and is happening in our lifetime.
Once filled in with chalk it should never be messed with again.
I'll post a link to the blog later and say nothing more here in case I bore everyone....

chalk and stuff
Chalk isn't a patch on giant golden statues of dead kings on horseback is it? Mind you, 'stuff' covers a multitude of sins, so you never know.

If you can get excited about squashed insects, then it's not too a big jump to being able to get chuffed about chalk.

! ...

I hope that was a pun. Otherwise:

Accountability & Transparency. Just because someone has the job of looking after the national treasures, doesn't mean that they are best qualified to do that job. Anything that has to go to Government for funding has a deal of political cant upon it. Its the task of those who are interested to at least try to ensure that this cant does not compromise the duty of care that these quango's were entrusted with, and there's no better place than TMA to converse with like-minded folk...

That was a cant rant.
It is now over.
