Eh say they want the meeting In Avebury.
What are the other options?
The social center in the high street will only hold 30 people
The Red Lion?

Hi, Ishmael,

If this site belongs to us all, why must the meeting be in Avebury? If EH want it there, then there must be a reason. Personally, I believe holding the meeting in Avebury is a concoction that devalues the universal nature of the structure, and suggests it's a local issue, never mind a probable attempt to limit the attendance and therefore drive the agenda.

Ishmael,
"A public meeting".
What does that mean? It seems like it's going to be held by EH, plus about 100 or so people who live in these islands. Not very representative of the populace as a whole.
I know the whole of Britain, or even just those who are interested can't attend, due to capacity. But why hasn't the whole issue been raised on prime-time national terrestrial TV? How else can EH get a full opinion of public feeling? There has to be full public opinion sought on what is one of Britains most important prehistoric sites. A full TV programme is the least it deserves, instead of the usual diet of celebrity shite that finds its putrid way down our aerials.
Lets have a public debate, as befits a supposed "civilised" society.
I have a lot of respect for EH, as well as a lot of disagreement. They operate in a non-profit-making way, which has to be respected in this greedy day and age. I hope they can keep my respect by consulting the whole public on matters like dear old Silbury Hill, bless her.
Put a word in.
Regards,
TE.

Expect others will decide where the meeting is to be held; my message really was to the people who govern in our name and take decisions. Been going to Avebury the last few weeks to try to understand what is what, apart from the fact I would'nt mind going back to live there, contemplating Silbury Hill from afar made me see that it needed an independent voice - but hills of course can't speak.....
p.s. dont stop talking - you are still the expert on all that happens round Avebury.
