To put a thing or two straight - EH have been asked for a public meeting for 5 years, and as a great deal of time passed many ways were tried to get them to agree without success- recently an opportunity arose accompanied by an additional reason why this meeting was badly needed, and it became clear that the only way to get that meeting was to ask for it at Avebury.
Apart from being the only way a meeting would happen, this has advantages I won't go into on here because EH read it.
As for the location all will soon be revealed. What I would say is that the meeting was the primary thing, the location is governed by size, geography, parking, and of course availability.
As Ishmael has stated, even if the meeting is held inside the village it will still be a job to get some locals to attend, and he will have an important job on his hands selling it to them. Again I can't go into this, but the locals are integral to the argument that the public require transparency and greater consideration.
Getting the locals to join in will become more difficult if it is to be held outside the village area, and whilst I would expect EH to lay on transport if it is remote, Ish might for example ask us to ferry people in cars. I would expect those travelling in to offer him that help !
This meeting is practically unprecedented - don't bollux this opportunity people !
