Stukeley often Elevates his drawings to show things on the horizon that are not visible from the ground.
I am working on a book of photographs taken from the spot on the same day as when Stukeley draw his sketches.
I am using a camera on a pole to get a higher elevation.
The Stream is the winterbourne that meets the Kennet at Sawllowhead.

Swallowhead (even). The reason it does not flood so much now is that the winterbourne was deepened a few years back to stop the meadows flooding.
Stukely often instructed his engravers to squash a scene to make it fit a page. His drawings in the Bodlean show he sketched them quite wide.
Maybe this explains the perkiness of Silbury in some drawings?
