May I suggest the EH run a species of ape over the unique and magnificent ancient monument?....

Known as 'homo sapiens', these lightweight, sometimes hairy mammals are unhoofed bipeds, their fleshy feet causing less footfall damage than hoofed ungulates whose feet cut the surface. Light fencing is easily breached by these intelligent creatures, so to confine them a sturdy high wire and electric fence is required. Generally they are summer visitors but occasional winter migrations can occur and as homo sapiens are a prone to 'flocking' the fence should be strong enough to repel unwanted individuals from neighbouring herds.

... Oh. They already do.

Just add sheep and Homo-sexed up people will follow em.
I'm gonna put up signs saying "Warning! Taraxacum

You had me going there Jane, I really thought this an expert description, then I noticed you had not specified the colours of their anoraks !

There is a market trader going on Mastermind this week, and his specialist subject is Anoraks: 14.99 to 17.99

hm, interesting idea Jane. trouble is, was this not also the genus responsible for the banal filling of Silbury with mcdonalds polystyrene burger box-type plastic?

o well, nothing's perfect i suppose - let's replace the sheep with EH bods in SSSI sensitive boots [lol] and bright yellow hard hats and place the sheep behind desks and pc's at English Heritage. that way the public might actually get some sense out of EH (relative to the current situation) whilst at the same time marvelling at the jobsworth bureaucrats wandering aimlesslessly around the unique neolithic monument they have spent a fortune of our money not restoring?

just a thought.

the grass? ah, no probs - ovine EH will smother it in red tape, now that's something they really do have a talent for!
