>'seems no one gives a toss to me...'

Thankfully, Paul1970, there are lots of people -especially round here- who give a very great toss indeed about Silbury.... see http://www.heritageaction.org/?page=campaigns_silburyhill

It's those miserable bastards at EH, in whose tender care Silbury is entrusted, who don't appear to know their arse from their elbow. Perhaps the lovely people at Heritage Action will issue a response to today's news?

EH are currently letting someone dig a trench into the area between the causeways to bury a waterpipe that will feed a trough. (No one know who is responsilbe for the watching brief so there wasn't one!)
There will soon be a rare breed of sheep on the hill to keep it looking good and to fill any voids that appear in the sides.
There are no plans for any repairs until 2006 at the earliest then Mr Pitts will probably get his wish and every tunnel will be reprofiled and the Atkinson tunnel opened to allow visiters into the center of the mound (probably for a modest fee)
