From an ecological/conservation point of view, rabbits were not here when Silbury was built and have no place hopping around in the wild today (they are, however, a very good, very cheap and very reliable source of meat and could be farmed as such under controlled conditions).
I have no more of a problem with the total eradication of rabbits from the British countryside than I do with the total eradication of rats from New Zealand - or for that matter any other importations that are proving harmful to native wildlife or to sensitive structures such as Silbury.
