spiral path

am I right in thinking I've read somewhere that Silbury has (or once had) a spiral path winding it's way to the top?

if this is the case, I've found an interesting folklore reference that I'll post

Post it anyway, if you ask me. It's folklore, so it's part of the ongoing thoughts about the hill - so really, it doesn't matter if there *was a spiral path, it's that people thought / think there was.
Well that's my opinion anyway.
