My pal, Fat Dudley, has an ancestor who specialised in seascapes. His nickname was 'Waterproof' and he would work almost entirely 'in the field'. The Newcastle art gallery has one of his canvases hung, hidden away, and it's just sea, nothing else, no boats or anything.
