Silbury Hill

silbury

A giant flint holly leaf topped plinth, for symbolically looking at the dome of the sky whilst making a belly pregnant?
Now where have I never read that?

<Now in genuinely curious mode>

What are the top ten theories about Silbury's purpose then?

<Now in not serious at all mode>

Could they be combined into a unified theory of Silbury?

Bolton has one. (It's natural). http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/10326

There's no sign of anything on top - a few things round the bottom though. The main 'temple' site was half a mile away at the angle the hill looks the best from. Certainly the feeling is that of nourishment and wonder - there's another in the South Tyne Valley - and all the stones refer to it.

ps wrot to Flynn - he got it yesterday.

Now that dear old Aubrey has de-nonsensed the terraces of Glastonbury Tor, shown us just how young the long men are - perhaps he could do the same for Silbury in a future series.
