"Should we make decisions on other peoples beliefs or aesthetic tastes?"

Don't see why not. It's a shared place. If they choose to ride roughshod over my aesthetic taste due to their beliefs why can't I ride roughshod over their beliefs due to my aesthetic taste?

They leave, I remove - seems a fair expression of democracy to me. Or do we want a theocracy where belief outranks secular rights?
;)

But surely secular rights should sit alongside religious beliefs on an equal footing?
