You're the one to blame for me becoming a regular on here - it was a thread you started where I first started getting chatting with folk!

Been thinking about the Nine Stones Close thing & magnification. I think that for the (not very good) shot I took up there, I zoomed back out from full 300mm magnification in the end because I could't find a composition I liked.

I'll have a better look next time I'm there - your shot's just what I was after!

Thanks for your comments on the eclipse photo.

I`ve been up to Wet Withens three times now. Once in the daytime, to find it, and twice in the middle of the night, to catch the dawn. My photo doesn`t really do the eclipse justice. It was an amazing, surreal event to see the brilliant, blood red, eclipsed sun rising over the mist strewn landscape.

I will be at Uffington. There is a meet at the Great Orme mines on the Sunday which I`ll be going to, as can anyone else on here, if they want. I live in-between, near Birmingham.
