Getting good photos of old rocks etc isn't only about photographic technique, composition or quality of kit, it's about being there at the right moment to show the site in a way that makes it easy for the viewer to 'see' what's there in a different way. So that as well as seeing the place, the viewer is getting a sense of the feeling of the place too.
